AUGUST ARTICLE
As COVID-19 puts a detour on Las Vegas show, The Vegas Voice and I are continuing to bring you up to date on the local entertainment scene.
First let me tell you about the Vegas Voice Celebrity Corner, which I host. I will be bringing you a front row seat to “Behind the Scenes” interviews with Las Vegas’ performers and entertainers.
You can check out my numerous live interviews with top Vegas performers by going to; www.vegasvoicetv.com
The last one was with “Reckless In Vegas” himself, Michael Shapiro. Before that there was a very entertaining, funny, and informative interview with both Vinny Adinolfi from The Bronx Wanderers, and John DiDomenico, who is the award-winning Donald Trump impersonator, as well as a dozen other impersonations.
Then there was Rich Natole, The Vegas Voice radio host, and before that was Craig Canter. Vinny Adinolfi’s part one interview, George Grove’s Folk Legacy Trio story, Chase Brown’s tale of success and many earlier interviews. In my years that I have been with The Vegas Voice, I’ve seen it go from a newspaper format to a magazine publication. From a web site to YouTube and now to VEGAS VOICE TV. along with streaming on ROKU through GOLDEN NETWORK TV.
Secondly. Did you know, we are the only media company that produces professional entertainment shows and performances around the Las Vegas Valley. The shows that I will be producing and bringing to Sun City MacDonald Ranch’s community center in September and October are still a go, with top singers, comedians, and musician. There still may be social distancing, so make your reservations early.
There are a few entertainment venues open at the moment but more that will be opening shortly. My crystal ball is a little cloudy now so I’m not sure exactly when that will be, but they will re appear. If you want to have an up to date list of what is happening on the entertainment scene, call me, text me or email me and I will include you in my weekly email that will have a current calendar to what’s going on at the local entertainment scene.
And finally, there will be a very special announcement in the next 30 day.
REALLY, INCREDIBLY SPECIAL!
JULY ARTICLE
We’re back!!! Yes, not only is Vegas on the road to recovery but so is The Vegas Voice. We already have two shows scheduled and we are working on finding new venues to bring our first-rate entertainment to the Vegas Valley.
We have a new web site, and I’m hosting The Vegas Voice “Celebrity Corner”, which will bring you a front row seat to Behind the Scenes interviews with Vegas’s top performers. You must see the impromptu interview/podcast with Vinny Adinolfi of the Bronx Wonderers and John Di Domenico, Emmy nominated actor, comedian, and impersonator (Donald Trump, Austin Powers, Jay Leno and many others). You can find it on The Vegas Voice web page, our YouTube page, streaming on Roku through the Golden Network TV and my web site. This will also be the link to my calendar of local entertainment that’s happening now. It includes the shows and events that the local performers ask me to list. http://www.evandavisjazz.com/calendar.html
The big show rooms are on hold for now, but the lounges are back. Local entertainment is going on in the Piazza Lounge at the Tuscany. The Bootlegger Bistro has solo entertainment seven nights a week and you can find sporadic entertainment at Monzu’ Pizza, Chianti Italian Restaurant, Bobby Mao to name a few.
There is a grand re-opening happening on Friday July 10th for the Italian American Club. Some dinners will be served in the showroom, as well as the dining room, before Jimmy Hopper opens the club’s entertainment. Genevieve will be performing in the lounge that Friday and Michael Ross Nugent will be there on Saturday night. There will also be 3 or 4 other shows rounding out the month of July at the Club. Limited seating and reservations are a must.
There are a few clubs, or shall I say entertainment venues on the strip, that have opened. Mayfair Supper Club at the Bellagio and the piano bar at Harrah’s. Drive-In Drag Show at the Dreamland Drive-In and hopefully the opening of The Bronx Wanderers in July. However, with things changing daily, you must check before you go!

JUNE ARTICLE
As we ponder how we’re going to get back to reality, I’ve spent the last two months planning how to bring shows back to the local communities, and also reminisce on the past shows and where are they now. I think that is a great name for my article. “Where are they now”.
I remember one of the first shows I produced for The Vegas Voice. It was the Spirit of 45 at the Silverton and about 1000 people attended. From there I introduced “soon to be stars”. Our host, Bob Anderson, was so much fun to work with. We had performers such as, Clint Holmes, Frankie Scinta, Chadwick Johnson, Ronnie Rose, Genevieve Dew, Mark Giovi, Michelle Johnson, Bill Fayne, Rich Natole and a dozen other local performers that gave Ned Mills, our musical director, lots to work with.
I was going to pat myself on the back and tell you some of the entertainers that I helped get off the ground here in Vegas, but I’m not going to. I’m going to tell you about the on-line shows you can watch from the comfort of your living room or kitchen table. All are just about free, but don’t be afraid to donate a few bucks if they have a donation link. Most of the performers are doing this because they love to perform. Let me run down some of the performances going on daily. Most of them are from Vegas but some are from out of town, such as, Billy Stritch and Linda Lavin from their apartment in Manhattan. Chadwick Johnson, Craig Canter, Rita Lim and Dave Siegel, Joey Melotti, Jimmy Hopper, Frankie Scinta, Sally Olson & Ned Mills, Chris Jason & Drew Anthony, Chase Brown, Jonathan Karrant, Randy Anderson, Gary Anthony, Bill Fayne, Jamie Hosmer, Donato Cabrera music director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic, along with special shows and fundraisers with Earl Turner and shows on Mondays Dark. All the days and times will be listed in my Wednesday emails. If you’re not receiving my emails and would like to, send me your email address and I will include you in my weekly email blast.
MAY ARTICLE
I’m sure we’ve all been climbing the walls the last 2 months, and I hope by the time this reaches you, we will be out of quarantine and headed back to some form of normalcy.
As our May shows have been cancelled, I am now working on bringing back the quality of entertainment you’ve expected from The Vegas Voice. Whether I can put together 2 shows a month or 2 shows a week, they will be very exciting and entertaining.
The first thing I want to do is help support the local entertainers and get them back to work by putting on as many shows as I can manage, and when that happens we all have to show our support by going to as many shows and events as we can afford.
There has been, and will continue to be, performers that will be entertaining all of us on Facebook, YouTube, Stageit and other venues. Until we can get out and support these performers in person, please check them out on all the above venues and let them know we’re all ready to bring Vegas back to the good old days: Like January 2020.
Bring back the lounge acts, bring back free parking and no resort fees. In 2 short months, Vegas, the country and the world, has come to a screeching halt. The saying “What Happens Here Only Happens Here” has not been the case. We will come back stronger than ever, and The Vegs Voice will at the forefront with all the local entertainment we can afford to bring you.
Let me give you just a few names of artists who are performing basically for free and some who are asking for small donations to help certain charities. Frankie Scinta, Craig Canter, Nieve Malandra, Jonathan Karrant, Amanda King, Doug Taylor, Jennifer Romas, Chadwick Johnson, John DiDomenico, Jamie Hosmer, Ryan Baker, Kevin Gardener Rose, Sally Olson, Ned Mills, The Sharps-David Marinelli, Charles McNeal, Tony Felicetta, Joey Melotti, Drew Anthony, Chase Brown and that’s to name just a few. So there’s plenty of entertainment to wet you appetite every day, morning, noon or night. Catch a few performances and leave any time you’d like but let them know you’re there with a quick comment or emoji. “Let The Music Play On.”
APRIL'S ARTICLE
As we sit home and wonder what to do in the coming weeks, with many shows, sports events and parties being cancelled or put on hold, The Vegas Voice advances into an era of streaming.
Streaming means listening to music or watching video in 'real time', instead of downloading a file to your computer and watching it later. With internet videos and webcasts of live events, there is no file to download.
You will be seeing this logo more and more, as The Vegas Voice forges ahead with interviews from “The Vegas Voice Celebrity Corner”. Discussing the latest shows and events with local entertainers, musicians, comedians and producers. We will be streaming parts of our shows as well. You can view these shows and interviews on our YouTube page, the internet and on ROKU steaming through GoldenNetwork.TV.
We are pleased to announce that The Vegas Voice has joined Golden Network TV (GNTV) and will provide original programming to this new streaming service. GNTV is backed by Vimeo, delivered through ROKU and the Internet. It recently launched its new subscription streaming service dedicated to meet the needs and interests of seniors. And by the way, it’s a FREE service.
We do have a few shows that are coming up, but as you know things are changing day by day. Mark OToole singing “Sinatra to Manilow” was to be held at Sun City MacDonald Ranch on April 11th but is cancelled. Another show at MacDonald Ranch on Sunday May 24th, which will be an afternoon show at 3pm where Bill Fayne will bring his “Merman meets Midler”…The Concert that never was, featuring Denise Clemente and Kellie Wright, is still a go.
As all the madness passes, and it will, The Vegas Voice has plans for future monthly shows and celebrations for all the major holidays, and a huge back to business extravaganza featuring many performers welcoming back the shows to Vegas.
JANUARY'S ARTICLE
WHAT DO I have in store for you this year! How about top-rated entertainers performing monthly at Sun City MacDonald Ranch, and any other venues that are interested in providing entertainment from The Vegas Voice. Or maybe our return of an “Evening Affair” hosted by me and starring Genevieve Dew, with stars of the future, present and past. How about watching my monthly podcast presented by The Vegas Voice, or our radio broadcasts?
These are just a few of 2020’s new and exciting programs along with my searching out what’s hot and what’s not for the month. I’ll also be reprinting my monthly Vegas Voice article on my web site, and other entertainment information I feel will be of interest to all my readers.
Whether it’s Jazz, blues, pop, classical or any other genre…Vegas has it all. E-String, Mezzo Bistro, Italian American Club, Piazza Lounge, Skyline Hotel, Blue Martini, The Golden Tiki, Saddle and Spurs, Trattoria Reggiano, The Sand Dollar and the list goes on and on. But what do we have coming up for you in February? How about “From Sinatra to Tom Jones…and Everything in Between” starring Craig Canter. A singer Impressionists from Engelbert Humperdinck, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra and more. His special guest vocalists Jennifer Lier who was the principal singer in major shows such as Folies Bergère, Legends in Concert and various shows all over the world. As well as a former Miss Nevada. And Janien Valentine who is honored to have been voted "Best Female Singer by the Las Vegas Review Journal and continues to co-star with The Scintas. Janien is a diverse and engaging singer who can belt a Whitney balled, jam a Motown tune, or command standing ovations with her opera.
This all tales place at Sun City MacDonald Ranch on Saturday February 22nd. Or check out The Vegas Voice web site and watch past podcasts of celebrities that I had the fun of interviewing, such as George Grove with the Folk Legacy Trio, Vinny Adinolfi of The Bronx Wanderers and others.
